We remember in the mid 1980s all this talk about using a computer to make phone calls (cell phones were just an idea; phones were push button and rotary dial via landlines) and being able to see the person or shopping from your sofa--what?!! Those ideas were soooo new and Jetson-y, we couldn't wrap our heads around the concepts. And today, hello Skype and online retailers.
NOW we hear:
1. GTO 2.0: Google has developed a robo-car that needs no driver. A camera and a GPS system has allowed cars to drive from its Silicone Valley campus to Santa Monica on a predetermined route. How cool is that!!
2. T-2000 SHAPE SHIFTER: Engineers are developing phones to change shape. When a phone is fully charged or a message box is full, the phone is harder/stiffer. When a phone is running low on battery cells, the phone can be squeezed like a stress ball.
