Smashing Pumpkins are gearing up for their upcoming 20th anniversary tour.
The band plans to play in smaller venues so they incorporate unique sets and songs.
In November, the band will play larger venues in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.
“The August tour is going to be a blast… Expect a very loud and raucous show from us…and we are very, very happy to know we will finally be playing our own shows come November in New York, L.A., and Chicago… The 20th Anniversary shows will be magical… We are already working on lots of surprises,” Billy Corgan wrote on the band’s website.
The planned Gish tour--coinciding with the reissue of the Pumpkins' ferocious debut album--is pushed back until 2009.
But at Hammond, Indiana's Horseshoe Casino is the bands first play date on August 9th of this year.
Corgan revived the Pumpkins in 2006 after a five year hiatus with the album release of Zeitgeist--only Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain were involved with that.
But with the anniversary tour look forward to James Iha and D'Arcy Wretzky to be involved.
Yeah!!!!!
We love the Pumpkins.....
1979 is our fave!!!!
