
FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF MAMMA MIA, HAIRSPRAY, CHICAGO--WE SHOULD'VE SEEN THIS COMING:
The Broadway musical, WICKED, that has an endless engagement at LA's Pantages Theater, will become a movie, according to Playbill.
THE theater source reports that Marc Platt Productions will handle making the movie for Universal Pictures.
Variety reports that Marc Platt has an extended contract with Universal pictures for five years.
Platt's production company has numerous theater-to-box office projects in the pike. Including WICKED, Platt is working on a remake of 1973 Jesus Christ Superstar and biopic about late composer George Gershwin.
