ALFRESCO FIERCE

Unkle Karl showcased the Chanel Resort 2012 collection on the French Riviera at the Hotel du Cap.

The look was "Billion-dollar babes."

Encapsulating that look was Lagerfeld's ultimate man muse Baptiste Giabiconi.

The Chanel Creative Director outfitted the gorgeous model in a bejeweled head turban a la 1940's Hollywood starlet. We see just a little Joan Crawford. We can also see a hot Arabian prince.

And, we understand The Kaiser used genuine fine jewelry for his looks, no faux resin costumey crap. That means real diamonds, real pearls, real gold. REAL, gerrrr.

This look is just poolside fierce.

We may have to don this head piece the next time we saunter up to the pool at the intimate Chamberlain or that fanfare attraction The Standard.

We think for Pride 2011 (next month), we'll be serving this look!!

Interns!! Dial up RuPaul's Drag Race winner, Raja. He is a professional makeup artist, we'll need a bronzed "glow" to go with our new alfresco attraction!! And Raja can walk a mean runway too. Maybe he'll polish up ours with a trick or two that we will use strutting back and forth to our bungalow!!

Hollywood royalty.... box-office poison.... Tina, bring me the ax!!!!

TATTED UP

GHETTO BLASTERS:

It's NO secret that we love our surf studs with SOME, not all overboard and shit, INK and if they are by Chanel -- THE BETTER!!

All you studs can go to the Chanel boutiques starting in March and acquire the temporary tattoo transfers.  We hear that a sheet with a set of 55 tattoos will be available for about $98 dollars.

If you're in the UK,  availability will be found at the Selfridge's counter as well.

If you have any friends good at hemp art, that would be the cheapest to mimic!!

We're calling the Chanel store in BH to get on that wait list ASAP!!

ANIMAL FARM

Design genius Karl Lagerfeld took to the farm for the Chanel Spring 2010.

Kaiser Karl had a giant barnyard constructed in the Grand Palais-- complete with hay and a mock stage.  The barn had the logo branded.  We want that barn!!

There was no way you could miss Lagerfeld's male muse Baptsite Giabiconi.  We feel bad for Brad Kroenig, we loooooove Brad.

TREND ALERT:

We're gay, we don't follow rules: like this is for girls, this is for boys.  We adopt and make it our own!!!

Softer colors for spring in neutrals:  beige, ivory, caramels, taupes and ecrus -- get your jackets and buttondowns in these colors.  Find a racer leather jacket in a light caramel, like the photo below.  One red item-- red Lacoste or red Converse wear it with said jacket.

The iconic pieces (like the nubby tweed jacket) were mixed with ivory and black; rough textures; transparency and lace.  Like the first image, find your own Chanel tweed jacket (the Chanel store in Hawaii sells Men's Chanel clothes) and mix it with a black and white print shirt and a tank top underneath that.

You can always take the high heel boot and reinterpret that with a chunky black motorcycle boot.  Find some vintage Girbaud jeans, roll them up, crisp white shirt, black blazer --- viola, you're parroting the second image.

What to look for:  homespun couture skills-- hopsack to basket weave and cane work to aprons; peasant poppy prints-- look for that in a shirt to wear under a jacket.

BREAKING NEWS: LAGERFELD OUT?

A source informed us that Karl Lagerfeld is NOT renewing his contract at Chanel and this leaves the door wide open for Alber Elbaz to fill the vacancy.

This could move Olivier Theyskens to fill the void at Lanvin if Elbaz vacates his post.

Oh... the fashion dominoes--how they may tumble!!

CHANEL MOBILE ART @ CENTRAL PARK

Unkle Karl has done it again with an art exhibit that has everyones' tongue a'waggin.

Here's what the New York Post says about it:

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... Karl Lagerfeld's spiritual home?

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company's iconic 2.55 quilted bag, Chanel has built a Zaha Hadid-designed torus-shaped exhibition hall in the middle of Central Park's Rumsey Playfield. The space-age exhibition hall, open to the public by a free-ticketing system, houses 18 handbag-inspired installations by international artists including Sylvie Fleury, David Levinthal, Yang Fudong and Michael Lin.

Conceived as a collaboration between Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld and Pritzker Prize-winning architect Hadid, the Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion arrived in New York freshly reassembled from its previous stints in Tokyo and Hong Kong. After New York, it will travel to London, Moscow and Paris.

Lagerfeld, the brand's iconic living-legend designer, arrived in New York yesterday and is expected to attend tonight's opening celebration cocktail party along with Hadid and other art-world VIPs.

When visiting the pavillion, guests are equipped with guided audio-tour headsets programmed with a 35-minute semi-narrative commentary by husky-voiced French actress and vocalist Jeanne Moreau.

The installations range from the surreal - Korean artist Lee Bul's "Light Years" lumpy sculptural installation is topped with a montage of leather and chains - to the cleverly charming - Swiss artist Sylvie Fleury's "Crystal Custom Commando" is a video installation played on the mirror of a larger-than life Chanel powder compact propped up inside a king-bed-sized replica 2.55 handbag.

Argentina's Leandro Erlich's "Le Trottoir" video installation is a cyclically-changing stunning and solemn Parisian cityscape reflected in a puddle on black asphalt ground.

One especially hilarious set-up - "Fifty Years After our Common Era, or Handbags' Revolt" by Russian art collective Blue Noses - features stacks of plain cardboard boxes within each of which are projected films of naked women of all sizes chasing after, bodyboarding on, and beating each over the heads with Chanel handbags.

The Chanel 2.55 handbag was first unveiled by Coco Chanel - who designed the bag for her own use - in February 1955. Its popularity is often attributed to its compact elegance and novel design features - the purse has several secret compartments. Over the past 50 years, the iconic quilt-and-chain shape has graced the arms and shoulders of celebrities all over the world - in recent years it's become a favorite of Mischa Barton, Victoria Beckham, Ashley Tisdale and Mary-Kate Olsen. The bag is priced from $1,795 up to $31,500 for limited-collectors-editions at Chanel stores.

The Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion is free and open to the public by a reservation-ticket system through Nov. 9. Though all 23,000 advance tickets were claimed online within hours of becoming available, a limited number of same-day tickets are available at the on-location box office starting Wednesday.
