We have moms, and they are all FABULOUS.

But, if we didn't and we were asked to choose one, here's our choices.

The editors of the blog compiled a list of some of the coolest moms out there. Believe us, there were way more than 10.

And, we feel none would have a problem with a little homofabulous tyke.

Hello, as if, a Go-Go!!! Front and center at that! An original L.A. punk. The 80s. That wardrobe archive. All the black turtlenecks we could ever want.!!

2. Madonna

Really? Does it need explaining....

3. Grace Coddington

She tugs at our heartstrings. Beautiful. Impeccable. Perfection.

4. Anna Wintour

Her decisiveness, refinement and drive. That archive of fashion knowledge.

We would SO already have a well-heeled foot in the door for working at VOGUE and Conde Nast!!

5. Gloria Vanderbilt

Oh, the stories. The family history. Andy as a brother. Jackpot!!

6. Donna Karan

Her design genius. The business savvy. That mind.

7. Rachel Maddow

The political brainiac. Can you imagine the wonderful dinner conversation every night? Her quick response and resourcefulness. Love her. Plus, the benefit of two mommies!!

8. Joan Rivers

That quick wit. The insight of doing QVC before any other celebrity and making a ton of dough at it. The Manhattan penthouse!! Did we say that Manhattan penthouse (Gold- leaf walls, French interiors)??

9. Ricky Lauren

Dad would be Ralph Lauren. Hello!! That retail DNA.

A frosted cake for dessert after every dinner. What more could a child want??

ANNA ARRIVES

Tonight is one of the fetes of all fetes to be on the invite list to: The Costume Institute Met Ball.

The event is spearheaded by VOGUE's EIC AnnER (say it British, darlinks) Wintour.

Like an enchanting starburst, the editrix sparkles in Chanel Haute Couture.

That blue kaftan in the background, we feel, is Contributing Editor, Andre Leon Talley.

We'll post the images of all the HOT lads attending, our favorite VOGUE staffers and the handsome debonair designers that we swoon over, like Christopher Bailey, Tom Ford, Lazaro Hernandez, Jack McCollough.......

ANNA SAYS GRACE

In the April issue of VOGUE, AnnER (Letter from the Editor section) gives Creative Director Grace Coddington some major props. We really haven't seen AnnER give any VOGUE staffer such lavish praise!!

....Grace has always shunned the limelight, but appearing in R.J. Cutler's The September Issue changed all that. Until then, she'd been the fashion insider's heroine, respected and admired because, as the movie rightly said, she is the world's greatest living stylist. When it came out, she became a star to everyone else.....

ANNER COME LATELY

She passed on Project Runway when Bravo approached VOGUE about teaming up for a reality series based on a contestant design competition.  That was about 6 years ago (PR premiered December 1, 2004).

VOGUE was a brand and she was branding it --- not diluting it to the trashy masses via television.

Branding VOGUE included titles:  Fashion Rocks, VOGUE Living, Men's VOGUE.

And how is that working out for ya, AnnER??  All shuttered titles, right bitch?!!!!

NOW the out-of-the-loop editrix has a mild interest in making her brainchild Fashion Night Out ( a one night shopping extravaganza in September to boost retail sales) into a reality show.

And she might be interested in Bravo as the team partner.

TOO LITTLE. TOO LATE. AND WHO CARES!!!

Now Grace Coddington and TV there is A STAR WAITING TO BE BORN!!

NUMBERS GAME

It will take a couple of days for the register tape to settle and get some idea of what dollar amount this event totaled for stores but thousands came out to celebrate shopping again for Fashion Night Out.

Nearly a 1000 people jammed the Macys in Queens Center to get a glimpse of VOGUE's EIC Anna Wintour.

"It's bigger than our wildest dreams," quipped the editrix.

Even Mayor Bloomberg arrived to join her in all the festivities.  The mayor was only able to partake a short time at the US Open matches earlier that afternoon.

Bloomberg rattled the numbers off:  NYC has a $10 billion fashion industry that employs 175,000 people.  That is more apparel-related business than the world's fashion epicenter, Paris.

Macys sold 6000 FNO t-shirts by 5pm at $30 a pop.

Some bought, some fraught.  But the main thing:  it extracted people from the confines of their home and reintroduced them to the wonderful emporiums that sell fabulous wares.

3.46 million late nighters tuned in to see VOGUE's EIC AnnER Wintour on David Letterman's talker.

That was quite a spike in viewership considering 3.32 million viewers was the average for Letterman that week.

The guys at Proenza Schouler will be out and  about to advise on expenditures from their line-- we would even take that opportunity to ask one of them out on a date!

WARMING TREND

ANNA SUI SWEET:

David Letterman was a true gent to Vogue's EIC Anna Wintour.

The editrix was pleasing, poised and purposeful on her guest stint with the late night talker.

Usually Letterman gives his guest a rake over the coals once or twice but he was smooth as silk with the British import, handling her with kid (Chanel) gloves.

Some of what they discussed:  the upcoming film, The September Issue, Grace Coddington, NY Fashion's Night Out and how she is  written in the media.

ANNIE GET YOUR FASHION GUN (away and get a law degree)

Ms. Wintour did a lot of shooting from the hip the other night.

At a town hall styled meeting led by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the main concern was to get consumer spending back on track.  Read:  paying $19,500 for a Ralph Lauren pave-diamond stirrup  watch featured in one of Vogue's Last Look pages.

AnnER took the stand and contemplated why retailers can't collude on prices? Gee AnnER, illegal much? 

"Could someone lead a committee that would make ground rules for retailers of when the discounting starts, and then all the retailers can agree to it?" Ms. Wintour suggested.

When designer Diane Von Furstenberg noted that would violate anti-trust laws,  Wintour shot

back with a verbal bullet:"Is that something we can change? We have friends in the White House now!"

 Grrrl gets it all twisted.

Obviously she's never taken an American business course at one of our colleges or  even a basic economics and anti-trust class at  the Learning Annex. 

In London, retailers have designated days for retail discounts and she thinks that can translate here in the states but it falls under collusion in America.

Grrrrl, be a little lamb and get one of your little "fashionista" assistants to get you a business lawyer so you're briefed on how the American economic and anti-trust system works in the states.

You may remember that the film  chronicles what Anna & Co. endure to make the VOGUE September issue come to fruition.

With that being said... CityFile is making ringtones of Anna's voice or Andre's voice available to download onto your cellphone.  FREE!

You readers know I am no techie-- so read their post thoroughly for instructions on how to download the ringtone.

Anna's says something like jeans and tshirts can be as glamorous as a ball gown....

Andre's says something like don't be afraid to Xerox.  You may have a 4 year degree and think your all that and a bag of chips........
