NYT: STYLE SECTION: GAY MARRIAGE EDITION

FINALLY!!!! After eons of seeing (and experiencing) sickening toothy-grinned straight slits shoving their gross Kay Jewelers diamond-encrusted rings in people's faces and expecting lots of "ohhs and ahhhs" from less-than-enthusiastic victims; voraciously reading the wedding sections of a hometown paper; agonizing over every detail of their snatch bridal gown-- IT IS OUR TURN!!

And, by the way, when said cunts shove their hideous, cheap-ass shotgun wedding rings in our direction, we yawn, roll our eyes and retort "ICCCCCCCK, Get the fuck out of our face!!"
HA!!

NOW!!! Gay men can shove their Leviev/Harry Winston/VBH diamond-encrusted wedding bands back in the faces of all those obnoxious cunts that deserve the comeuppance.

NOW!!! We, too, can have numerous GROOM magazines with a 1000+ pages of nothing but tuxedos where we can agonize over every seam, stitch and alteration, study the honeymoon destinations sections, peruse the informed writings on china, flatware and that coveted espresso maker and, last but not least, the 25 Ways To Style Your Man For That Special Day countdown articles with tear-out pages.

NOW!!! We can have our own Groomzilla show on LOGO!!!

FINALLY!! Our day has come!!!!! Or cum (if the honeymoon night is over with, HA!!)

*******************

To kick off the first day of gay marriages and the beginning of a new era, The New York Times' Style section executed a Special Issue: Gay Marriages for Sunday's paper.

Some of the highlighted articles in this keepsake edition:

A WEDDING? OH, YES, WE DID THAT, TOO:

Simon Doonan & Jonathan Adler's unconventional marriage in San Francisco:

On Sept.18, the sun is shining as we head to City Hall [San Francisco], where Harvey Milk, the gay rights leader, was assassinated....After the brief ceremony, we four head to Jonny’s store [Jonathan Adler has ceramic boutiques throughout the USA] on Fillmore and Sacramento Streets, where we kill time arranging pillows and chatting with his sales staff. This is oddly enjoyable.

Next stop: lunch. On the recommendation of Jonny’s store manager, we walk to a strange esoteric foodie eatery. Our meal is so earnestly provenanced, sustainably wrought, codified and cruelty-free as to be incomprehensible, inedible and hilarious.

READY TO WED? NO, MOM:

With same-sex marriage now legal in New York, some gay sons and daughters are starting to feel the same heat from parents as do their straight siblings.

[Aaron Breslow's] stepmother called. “She congratulated me on gay marriage passing and said, ‘This is a great opportunity for you,’ ” Mr. Breslow said.

But there’s a problem: Mr. Breslow, who calls himself queer rather than gay, philosophically opposes marriage. “I don’t understand the concept of legalized monogamy and normalcy,” said Mr. Breslow, who has a brother, Jacob, also gay. “My brother and I both studied queer theory.”

SPECIAL Q'S: ETIQUETTE ADJUSTMENTS:

As of Sunday gay marriage is legal in New York. Time to lay some ground rules.

FIELD NOTES: WALKING MILES OF AISLES:

Although some gay couples who live in New York State have already wed legally elsewhere, they are thinking about marrying again — in their home state.

COMPETING TO DRAW GAY HONEYMOONERS:

Many hotels and resorts see New York’s approval of gay marriage as a chance to boost honeymoon bookings.

Just don't book at this Vermont Inn (The Wildflower Inn of Lydonville)!! HA!!

GRASPING FOR DESIGNER STRAWS

Husband & husband  Simon Doonan and clay master cutie Jonathan Adler teamed up to design the Diet Pepsi Style Studio pop- up lounge for New York Fashion Week.

Doonan (he was creative director for Barney's and their windows)  crafted shoes and a tall thin soda can out of cans and Adler added the whimsical straw design.

The couple that designs together, stays together.....

CREATIVE DIRECTOR DOES CHRISTMAS

First Lady Michelle Obama has commissioned Simon Doonan-- yes, he of Barney's fame (Creative Director), window displays specifically,  and that LOGO series, Beautiful People, based on Doonan's childhood-- to decorate the White House for the Christmas season.

Will he use husband's, Jonathan Adler, ceramic pottery  tchotchkes as empty space fillers?

SIMON DOONAN'S LIFE COMES TO THE SMALL SCREEN

Take this Chris Rock--finally our own version....FABU......

Creative Director of Barney's New York, Simon Doonan (yes, married to Jonathan Adler) will have his teen life played out on the small screen with the help of the BBC and producer Jon Plowman (Absolutely Fabulous).

The show is titled Beautiful People:

"Surrounded by dreams of the big city and the beautiful people that apparently live there, 13 year old Simon (Luke Ward-Wilkinson) cannot open a fridge door without belting out a show tune.
But such behaviour will always fall flat on a family even more eccentric than Simon’s latest attempts to be marvellous. The Britain of 1997 might be changing, but the Doonan clan remain consistently nuts.
Mum Debbie is a peroxide whirlwind of matriarchal warmth and tottering pride for husband Andy – an opera-savvy plumber come home-made wine maker. Sister Ashlene is a ghetto queen, blind lodger Aunty Hayley has a guide-dog who is far from size zero, lobotomised grandma Narg has just lost God and found her wicked streak and best mate Kylie wants to be Reading’s own Princess of hearts."

They do take artistic direction and move his thirteen year old self to 1997.  We def. know Simon was not 13 in 1997!!

There is a clip of the show below:
