VANITY FARE

Being cheeky, Entertainment Weekly asked actor Ryan Reynolds to write a biography of himself for the June 17th issue.
Reynolds offers:
LITTLE RYAN:
“In the Reynolds household, family came first. He spent a great deal of time with his older brothers and, in turn, his brothers were very close to him. Usually within striking distance. Fun to bruise and generally considered to be ‘emergency food,’ he was teased for being the sensitive kid who liked to mow the lawn and get punched in the face.”
MAPQUEST: HELL-A:
After moving to Los Angeles at the tender age of 19 - armed with only $600 and a rape whistle - he quickly established himself as one of Hollywood’s most dynamic and immensely talented waiters.”

ON THE FLIP SIDE
We posted earlier about RyRy's June DETAILS cover.
Flip the magazine over and here's the back cover.
With the black and white clothing, we're feelin' a little 80s prep-punk connection.

A DETAILED READ
Ryan Reynold covers the latest issue of DETAILS.
How is it possible that RyRy gets better looking with each passing day?
Aggregate is a word Reynolds likes to use to describe his non-meteoric rise to the top of the Hollywood call sheet. It's a fair description of how he got here. Step one: Come out of nowhere (which is to say, Canada) and hustle your way into TV movies and a kids' series despite discouragement from your working-class Vancouver family. Step two: Make the jump to the big screen (1993's Ordinary Magic—he played Ganesh, a boy raised in India sent to live with family in Ontario. Sample dialogue: "They are not so very different, basketball and yoga"). Step three: Drive to L.A. from Vancouver "on the whimmiest of whims" in 1995 with an aspiring-actor friend and, after a few years, land a part on a sitcom (Two Guys and a Girl). And here's where the steps pile up and blend together, until finally, two decades later, you're People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive and the CGI-swaddled flying green lead of a summer blockbuster.
It also didn't hurt being engaged to a musical zeitgeist from the Nineties : Alanis Morissette.
These actors make their exodus stories to Hollywood sound like such a hardship....
Hello? Alanis didn't open a ton of doors for you or introduce you to the "right" people??

A HUNK OF POLITICS

Ryan Reynolds opines on the Gulf of Mexico/ Deepwater oil disaster for the Huffington Post.
Pens his well-muscular hand:
It's easy to vilify Big Oil after a tragedy like this, but there are still hard working people in that industry who need to put a roof over their heads. I firmly believe we can pass clean energy and climate legislation and by doing so, put millions of Americans to work.

NO F**N COSTUME BITCHES

Ryan Reynolds
"[Costume designer Ngila Dickson] was tasked with trying to find a way to do something that stands apart from all of the other superheroes spandex suit designs we’ve seen in the past. Honestly, isn’t the look becoming overused? Remember, the Green Lantern suit is something that should look alien — it needs to seem other worldly. It encompasses any creature that wears the ring, and Hal Jordan is the first human to ever wear the suit. This was a chance for Dickson to do something different. You also have to consider that Hal changes into the suit multiple times in mid scene, and the cg also allows him to do this. I’ve heard that when the cg is complete, the suit will look like a manifestation of his power. And while I couldn’t confirm this, I’ve heard that DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has seen the designs and given them his blessing. The suit is lined with white LEDs, which I initially thought might be used to give a practical glow (kind of like how Billy Crudup wore blue LEDs to give the actors around Dr. Manhattan a blue glow in Watchmen), but I’ve since been told might just be for mo-cap tracking purposes."

RYRY GETS PICKED UP
Buy my film or you'll be sorry!!!
We posted last week that a bidding war could ensue for Buried.
Lionsgate bought Buried which stars Ryan Reynolds for about $3 to $4 million.
This was the first major feature to get picked up at Sundance.
Buried had a late night screening and that seemed magical because immediately afterwords Lionsgate pulled out the checkbook for the suspense thriller.

ALL DAY, EVERY DAY
When one lives in Hollywood and ventures out, this is the sight one's eyes rests upon on any given day.
Hot men galore. And we size up these men morsels up and down with a good hard stare at the offerings in the jeans. Mmmm. Mmmmmph. All that manhood in one enticing and well- wrapped package.
Are we: Spoiled much?
Are you: Jealous much?
RyRy steps out in WeHo, below:

On any given day: If it isn't RyRy, it could be Jakey Pooh or Winny Pooh or Seann William or Scotty Pooh or... you get the drift of our days in La La Land.
