Ralph Lauren closed out Fashion Week with a predictably opulent show. Anna Wintour turned up with Morley Safer in tow since 60 Minutes is filming a segment on the Vogue editrix.  [NYT, WWD, FWD, Racked]

• David Lauren appeared at Ralph's show with his leg in a cast. "He just sort of stepped off an uneven sidewalk wrong," explained Lauren Bush. [NYM]

SAN DIEGO FIREFIGHTERS WIN

“The money was never an issue for us. We never went in it for the money,....we should never have even had to go to court,"  John Ghiotto, one of the 4 firefighters suing the city of San Diego.

As WE have been following this story for a while NOW:

A San Diego jury has found that four city firefighters were indeed harassed while being forced by their employer to participate in a gay pride parade ...

The jury, which took three days to decide on their verdict, decided that the four men should be able to split US$34,300 in damages.

The firefighters had claimed they were subjected to sexually charged conduct and sexually explicit comments while driving a fire engine as part of the July 2007 parade.

ARMANI IS ONE OF US--HE KEEPS IT REALS

Giorgio Armani took the subway from the Bronx.

He had business at 166th Street to give some funds from his vast fortune to Caroline Kennedy's pet cause, The Fund for Public Schools.

Since his chauffer could not get to him, Armani and Kennedy took the subway back to Manhattan.

Armani blogs:   "Caroline and I decided to hop on the subway on our way back down to the city center, which turned out to be a much faster way of getting back. It was really crowded when we got on at 161st Street, but later I sat down next to a nice lady in a North Face puffer jacket and ski hat. She told me she assisted elderly people, and I asked to see her card. I told her, 'Who knows when I might need your help?; Just kidding, of course. When I got up, I left her my own scarf as a parting gift."
