Nobody is shooting anyone because tennis professional Andy Roddick is not going to give them a chance.

After this year's US Open, Andy Pandy is retiring. Sad face.

"I just feel like it's time. I don't know that I'm healthy enough or committed enough to go another year....," quips Roddick.

Andy won the US Open only once in 2003. Roddick, also, was a former #1-ranked player.

As a side note, we were ardent fans for Roddick in the early 2000's, including 2003. THEN!!!!.. that all changed in 2004, when we FIRST laid eyes on Nole Cakes. We jettisoned Andy quicker than Ripley did that Alien.

The spunky Serbian with the wicked cross-court backhand stole our heart from day one. We have been faithful and monogamous fans of Nole's ever since!!

Andy turns 30 on Thursday and will announce his retirement on his birthday.

HERE COME THE GROOMS

Thomas Roberts and Patrick Abner, both 39, released their official engagement photo.

The wedding date is set for September 29, 2012.

The two have been together for 12 years.

Like most grooms, Roberts has a target weight he wants to reach before the big day:

“You have to live with wedding pictures for a lifetime.... want to look damn good. I think all people do.....I’ve definitely trimmed down. I gain weight like a tree trunk – I grow wider in all areas.”

A dream come true:

“It’s been hard to dream of a day like today. I’ve had to play catch up in my head, in a lot of ways, to realize that this is achievable.”

A South American honeymoon will follow.

Congrats to the happy couple and we wish them a life filled with happiness and prosperity!!

For those of you that have been watching Downton Abbey, we saw a hint of Thomas' (played by Rob James-Collier), the footman, sexuality in the first season. Then, the series concentrated heavily on World War I for the second season. It left all of us wondering: is he or isn't he (gay)? His sexuality was totally ignored.

Well, this third season promises to make up for it. Thomas will receive a generous story line that explores his sexuality.

“The gay thing comes back [this season] – he stopped being gay in [Season] Two. I had to ring upstairs and ask Julian [Fellowes, creator], ‘Am I still gay?’

“Seriously, in [Season] Two the drama focused on the First World War and the huge impact it had on people back home in Britain, in dealing with the dead and wounded. The gay thing was largely ignored.

“But Thomas has a beautiful storyline which evolves right through the new [season] and there has a massive pay-off.”

ROGER THAT!

To say that Nole Cakes has had a less than stellar year in tennis is an understatement.

The lad scraped together a trophy win in Toronto, taking the Rogers Cup for the second year in a row.

We just hope he has a game plan for New York to take the title win!!

We'd like to see him kissing us the US Open trophy a month from now.
