Our Borders Books (330 S. La Cienega) closed. There are more around the city so it's not like we're put out.
A FUN AFTERNOON:
After a full swing through Beverly Center, maybe a snack at Baja Fresh and a quick espresso at Coffee Bean, we always made time for a quick jaunt to Borders.
First stop: a rapid browse through the fash/fag mags and International titles. Then, the latest tome had us galloping through its pages and reading a quick snippet here and there to see if it made our required reading list.
The clearance rack: we never knew when a favorite CD or a blank notebook or whimsical stationary would be on discount.
With A Different Light long gone and now this, we're hiking back up to Sunset and be forever entrenched in the rows at Book Soup (much better mag rack outside) and with Peet's across the street, it's a done deal.
