Usually Tonne Goodman handles the cover and Grace Coddington has the bulk of the editorials.
Is this just a confirmation on an editorial booking?? Are Coddington and Miesel working together again..... in Alder mansion? Separately? We want answers!!
It is May, so the September issue will be closing in a few weeks.
We wonder what the core editorial stories will be: Sci-Fi blacks and oversized silhouettes (Chanel); Mad about Dots (Marc Jacobs); again, another fall season with androgyny (Jason Wu); another fall season of body-con (Marc Jacobs).
Readers may ask: why keep up with this or who cares?
Answer: Because it always spills over into menswear. Maybe not immediately for fall but in the spring/summer lines of 2012. Menswear is about six months to a year behind in picking up the trends of the women's runway. Look for dots in men's clothing, oversized pants, jackets and top coats, look for a 1940s sense of debonair and refinement and a unisex form to the clothes--interchangeable for whichever sex. That's why!!
Okay, that's it for your Parsons School of Design lesson for today.... go create!!
