TDK has done $60 million as of 5:30 pm Friday playing 4366 North American theaters.
It will beat Sony's Spider-Man 3 that opened Friday May 4, 2007 with $59.8 million.
TDK is selling 15 tickets per second at big movie ticket service Fandango..com.
The help of 90% positive reviews from cream of the crop reporters gives this film an added bonus.
Across the board, Friday 12:01 am showings of the film pulled in $18.5 million , including a best-ever $640K for ZIMAX midnight screenings.
