Genre Magazine has suspended publication.
All of this according to CEO David Unger who states that the recession is to blame.
Yea right...
We question his leadership abilities.
The Washington Blade reports: "We thank all of our readers, advertisers and editorial staff for their support throughout our more than 16-year history and hope that we can re-establish our relationship when times are better
He noted that the decision to suspend Genre does not have any impact on other publications produced by HX Media, Window Media or Unite Media, which include the Washington Blade, Southern Voice, South Florida Blade, New York Blade and HX magazine.
"Those publications will continue to publish and support their local communities," Unger said."
LA*SURFPUNK reported earlier of the memo William Kapner gave to staffers.
We also gave you the info of Unger ranting at the sales staff.
And subscribers had not seen a fresh issue in months, which editor Neil Boulton blamed as a "printer hiccup." Then Boulten left Genre on Feb. 26th and other staffers left en masse too.
