PRESIDENTIAL HONOR

Gay rights movement pioneer Harvey Milk is receiving this year's Presidential Medal of Honor, along with 16 other well-noted recipients.

The White House quipped  the honorees "make an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors."

Other big name recipients:  Bill Jean King, Sandra Day O'Conner, Chita Rivera, Stephen Hawking and Sidney Poitier.
