HAPPY HOUR

Had a hard day at your TV office trying to keep your philandering trysts in order (who am I seeing tonight?), have we got the cocktail for you.

Via New York's President Hotel (234 West 48th St; 212.246.8800):

The Letterman Elixir
1 1/2 oz. Appleton Estate Reserve rum
1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
3/4 oz. pure-cane simple syrup
Dash of angostura bitters
Champagne
Mint sprig

Add lime juice and mint to a cocktail shaker, and slightly muddle. Add the rest of the ingredients and ice, shake, and strain over fresh ice.
