FRAME BY FRAME

On True Blood, here's how the scene played out between Alex and Theo.

As in any film studies class, this type of lust must result in a tragedy.  Theo's character Talbot must meet his demise.  We absolutely hate this.

Homo studies 101:  Gay figures = Tragic figures.

Just like in all those 80s/90s films:  the gay character, especially if he had AIDS,  must die, think Longtime Companion, And The Band Played On and Philadelphia.

Or, he is forever banished to life of singleness and solitude, think Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss and Brokeback Mountain.

As hot as this scene was, these gruesome endings for the gay figure is so TIRED and such a cliche.

Professor LA*SURFPUNK says:   That's all. Class dismissed.
