This separation between singer Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels is some juicy dramaaaaaaa.
Although this makes great talk, we do hope the two find some peace and are able to be friends later down the line.
Etheridge has filed a Petition for Dissolution of Domestic Patnership. The singer wants the custody of the kids and her lawyer is asking the judge to reject any financial support to Michaels.
Dayum!
Meanwhile, Michaels is saying she was "blindsided" last year when Etheridge announced she wanted the relationship to end.
Michaels penned a poem and posted it on her blog, among other entries: one about censorship.
For all you legal eagles, TMZ has the legal court filing-- it may download as a zip file on some computers.
The poem, below:
blindsiding
i am wondering if it's an art
gentle waves
no noise for awhile
or maybe gentle voices
and
SMACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
FILE FOR DIVORCE!!!!!!
even though we both promised
agreed
handshook
pinkyswore
no filing until after tour
in the fall
her broken promises
told to me by
headlines
i'm raising the kids
doing what i can
second set of yours
could you stop blind sighting me?
unless it's another art form you're working on?
