Amal Fashanu, the niece of Justin Fashanu (who was the first footballer to come out some 17+ years ago) drives her documentary with the compelling question, "Why are there no OUT gay players in football today?"

The answer is more complex than one would think. And, this could easily translate across the pond to why there are no OUT gay players in American football.

First, the owners of the teams have a lot to do with the homophobia because most are old, white bigoted cunts. And secondly, the Neanderthal mindset of most of the fans.

Amal interviews recently OUT Swedish footballer Anton Hysen and has him opine about his experience playing professionally as an openly gay player.
