Amsterdam saw record numbers for their annual pride parade. Some 560,000+ attended the festivities.
Revelers looked on as 80 boats, decorated and dazzeled for the celebration, bobbled along the Amstel river.
The boats displayed themes of persecution and discrimination of LGBT people in other global cites, especially the Western civilizations.
People applauded and approved as the gays and lesbians of the Dutch military and police marched in uniform, a first for the involved groups.
Amsterdam has a reputation as the world's gay capital but homophobia still exists. Isolated incidents have marred the balance but the city's continued progress for LGBT citizens still soldiers on.
