Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Brendan Burke, 21.
The son of Toronto Maple Leafs manager Brian Burke passed away in a fatal car accident along with a friend who was in the passenger seat.
The car accident happened in Indiana due to weather.
Brendan made news last year for coming out and having a father and work place that accepted the news with much support and love, we posted on that earlier.
The Advocate reports: Burke, who was a student assistant on the University of Miami (Ohio) hockey team, was reportedly driving east on a snow-covered U.S. 35 in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when his vehicle slid sideways into an oncoming 1997 Ford Truck, the Richmond (Ind.) Palladium-Item reports. Burke’s passenger, 18-year-old Mark Reedy, also died in the accident.
