OUT FOR AN EVENING
Ron Burkle held a 'No On Prop 8' fundraiser at his Beverly Hills estate last night.
Last night event raised at least $3.9 million.
Hottie San Fran Mayor Gavin Newsom donated $100,000; Newsome opened the night with calling the event the civil rights issue of our times.
David Hyde Pierce donated $50,000.
Melissa Etheridge and Mary J Blige was the entertainment. Etheridge raised $100,000. She will sing two songs at an upcoming nuptial ceremony for two male guest.
'No on Prop 8' ads will run Spanish versions on the radio. These ads will address and counter the false claims made in the ads run by the Yes on Proposition 8.
Villaraigosa offered to donate his time and to be the face and voice of the Spanish language TV and radio ads.
All in all-- a successful evening.
