OutHistory.org has posted nine pages of New York City Police Department records chronicling the rebellions of June 28, 1969 in the early mornings. Those rebellions birthed what is known today as the gay rights movement.
These reports are NOW historic documents entailing a movement that the NYPD was labeling as an 'Unusual Occurrence" at the Stonewall.
Little did the police realize a human and civil rights issue was unfolding before their eyes; and to this day, all LBGT folks are still fighting for their rights to be recognized as first class citizens in all states.
