Everyone is wishing that this just goes away and that no one talks about it. Talk about a BIG elephant in the room!!
I learned about the episode from Nikki Finke.
Make a block of time, the ep runs about 24 minutes. If it says video unavailable just keep hitting The China Probrem button until the ep plays.
Southpark creators did an ep, The China Probrem, viciously spoofing George Lucas and Steven Spielberg for "raping" Indiana Jones in Paramount's fourth summer sequel.
It is genius: the creaters recreated "classic rape" scenes ( as horrid as that sounds, but it's brilliant at the same time) from the films Clockwork Orange, The Accused and Deliverance, sprinkling them throughout the secondary plot of the episode about the racist "horro" of the post-Olympics Chinese taking over the world.
Finke reports that Paramount and Viacom (its parent company) will "look into" and discuss the made for adult toon.
Finke also notes how THE COUCH JUMPER was upset with Viacom for South Park's airing of the infamous "Trapped in the Closet" episode. But SHE never was able to remove it from the air.
Now Finke wonders what Brad Grey, Rob Moore, Spielberg, and Lucas will say to Viacom, and the DVD of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull drops in a few days.
Talks are positive with Paramount and Lucas for an Indiana Jones 5!!!
UPDATE: Finke updated her post and none of the Hollywood names above are going to lodge a protest with Viacom.
An inside snitch confesses "We don't want to engage. We just want it to go away."
The Wednesday ep was seen by 3.7 million viewers, up 27% from last fall's debut.
