A funny side note: That is our favorite shop "Tasty Donuts" (right by Marco's) behind the mayor!! You can always catch me there buying bakers dozen doughnut holes!!

This year's Christopher Street West Gay Pride Parade 2009, brought two of California's mayorial heavy hitters: San Francisco's Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles' Antonio Villaraigosa.
The two stood up for LGBT equality.
Mayor Newsom marched with his wife, who is expecting, with supporters surrounding him that carried signs with the gay pride flag and "NEWSOM" written in white letters on the colors of the flag.
Mayor Villaraigosa shouted from his pride car on SaMo @ Olive St.: [what I heard] "...I know that civil rights can't just be for some of us; it has to be for all of us.... and that's why we are going to do everything we can.. ah, .to make sure that we can change our Constitution.... ah, to stand for the idea that marriage equality is as basic, ah, to our pursuit of happiness as anything!"
Both mayors were alarmed "that the U.S. Justice Department has submitted a legal brief supporting the Defense of Marriage Act as part of a federal lawsuit," reports The Los Angeles Times.
