It's a yearly tradition that the undergraduates climb the Herndon Monument @ the US Naval Academy Annapolis.
The monument is greased with lard to make it difficult and one cap is replaced with a new one.
A freshman held the honor this year: Schyler Widman, 19, Jackson Hole, WY.
It took one hour and 14 minutes and 28 seconds for those interested and it is a tradition that dates back to around 1907.
