San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom quickly returned a $25,000 dollar check given to his California gubernatorial campaign by Rockstar Energy scion, Russell Weiner.
Weiner is the son of homophobic and vitriolic radio host Mike Savage aka as Mike Weiner.
Newsom knew the bad press wasn't worth any amount of cash from this homophobic family. Russell Weiner also has set up a group called the Paul Revere Society which promotes the deportation of illegal immigrants and supports straight marriages.
Newsom was the first mayor to start granting same-sex licenses in San Francisco so gay couples could marry in the Golden State and basically started this whole political wildfire that has spread nation wide. So since he was the first to grant us marriage rights--why would he want funds from the homo hating Weiner family?!!! Right, right.
