FAST TIMES AT HOMO HIGH

A high school catering to gay students has been proposed to open in the United States.

The plan comes from a group that runs a already established 'social justice' high school, and while being open to all students, the school would foster tolerance and a safe environment for gay students.

The school would be located in Chicago and would open around 2012, that's if strong opposition to the plan doesn't derail it beforehand.

The proposal is set to go before a public hearing on September 18, and then must face an evaluation team and the city's public schools chief - and that's before it goes to the schools board.

Conservative groups are already calling the idea a mistake, saying that public school funds would be being misused in such a project, and would be making a morals judgement on homosexuality.

Even some gay rights campaigners see the downside of segregating gay students from the general population, preventing different groups of students from interacting and growing with each other.
