The theme for this issue is (June/July '09), also big months for Pride celebrations across the nation and to report on them in mag land, the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York City.
The Advocate is profiling 40 people who were born after that day.

As a side note: Black was the Oscar winning screenwriter for Milk. Black testified before the state's senate committee today to support a Harvey Milk Day in California. His testimony must have helped because it was given the green light. The legislation will go before the full Senate for a vote.
