As promised, Vermont's Governor Douglas vetoed a same-sex marriage bill yesterday.
Today: The Vermont House and Senate voted to override that veto. The Senate voted 23-5, a wide margin. The House was closer with a 100-49 vote.
Vermont is the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage and the first state to it by a vote of the legislature.
Vermont follows on the heels of 3 other states that have legalized same-sex marriages: Iowa, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Is it safe to yell: YAY!!! Gay Marriage!!!
or will it be taken away from us in a few months like in California?
Story developing.....
