NOLE IN HIS COLORFUL PLAY
Novak Djokovic, the third seed, easily downed Arnaud Clement of France, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4, Wednesday,in 1 hour 59 minutes in his first-round match.
Djokovic was solid, hitting 37 winners to 22 unforced errors. The only hiccup in the match was Djokovic’s getting treatment on his ankle at 2-1 in the third set after taking a fall. He showed no ill-effects from it the rest of the match.
