The one person that has not talked to Michael Phelps or to congradulate him on his 8 gold medal winnings is his father, according to one NY paper.
The Phelps family had to endure an early divorce in 1992 when the mother and father went separate ways. Mikey was just 9.
It must have been a division that still does not sit well with Michael: "The person I love the most is sitting in the front row - my mom - for everything she's done," Michael told reporters Monday in Beijing.
The senior Phelps tells the media he doubts that he will talk to the Olympian in the near future:"' He's so busy, I'm sure not even his agent can get a hold of him,' [he quips] outside his home in the Baltimore suburb of Linthicum Heights, when asked why he had not yet made any attempt to congratulate his record-setting son."
