MICHAEL PHELPS ALREADY SET A NEW OLYMPIC RECORD WITH FIRST RACE

MP is the MP of the water.

He was nervous before the first race, but he came through with flying Olympic colors and a new record.

Now that he has that first competition out of the way, his jitters have disappeared.

Phelps came in at 4:03.84 for the men's 400-meter individual medley.
